INDIANAPOLIS—
Its a revolution that few saw coming. It was only about ten years ago when coaches and players would come in and out of the RCA Dome at the NFL's Scouting Combine with out any consistent frequency, and getting an interview with a coach or a prospect was more of a guessing game than an exact science.
As far as the drills themselves, only a select few cameras from NFL Films were allowed in, and that seemed ground breaking at the time.
Fast forward to 2010, and this once inclusive event has become a made for television spectacle, featuring live coverage of the drills on the NFL Network and on the internet. Players are brought in on specific days (although sometimes that can change) and specific interview stages are set up to facilitate these discussions.
While the players use the field at Lucas Oil Stadium to show off their skills, media members of all formats are using a part of the new building to help fans get to know more about these potential NFL draft picks.
